Weekend of exhaustion

Oh my.  What a weekend.  Friday was J’s 28th (*audible gasp*) birthday so everyone came over.  All the boys were there, plus a few people we don’t see often.  We drank a little too much and all of the sudden it was 3:30 and  I still hadn’t packed.

It doesn’t matter how much Mama drinks, Claire still gets up at 6.  Saturday was no exception.  J, of course, slept until I practically pushed him gently nudged him out of bed.  We didn’t leave for Houston until 11, and it took us 4 hours to get to my sister-in-law’s house because of traffic.  We ran in, both took showers and changed, and left within an hour of arriving.

We got to The Galleria about an hour before my appointment at Bobbi Brown, so we exchanged some shirts J got for his birthday, and picked up something for Addie.  My appointment was at 6, and after that we went to the reunion.

[Side note: I hate all of you who loved my red shoes.  It gave me a temporary confidence, and made me forget how uncomfortable they were.  Luckily I shoved a pair of black flats into my purse, so I switched back and forth all night.]

There’s not much to say about the reunion.  I met a lot of people J went to high school with.  It was fun, and it really made me want to go to mine.

Again, home too late.  Claire doesn’t sleep well when we stay with my sister-in-law.  They have two kids too, a 3 year old and a 13 month old.   One will get up and cry, which wakes the other ones up.  You get one to sleep, and another wakes up.  It’s awful.  Claire was up pretty much all night.

We went to breakfast Sunday morning, and then were planning on walking around the mall for a while, but when we got to Barnes and Noble to change Claire’s diaper, she went nuts.  When she’s really tired, she just…..runs around…and laughs like a crazy woman.  It’s really odd, because she’s normally a pretty quiet kid.  So, the minute she started running in circles (I’m not kidding), and making weird noises, we knew it was time to go.  She slept the whole was home.  So did I.

So, that was our weekend.  Pretty uneventful.  There are a few things I’d like to get done this week, mostly cleaning related, but luckily we have a pretty quiet week ahead of us.

I’m glad.  I, for one, need a break.
